Braddock Borough is committed to providing a municipal website that is accessible and usable by residents, visitors, employees, and members of the public with disabilities.
We are working to make the website and its digital services accessible across a wide range of devices, browsers, assistive technologies, and input methods.
Our accessibility approach
GovOps is designed with accessibility built into the shared website foundation. Our goal is to follow recognized accessibility practices, including the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.
This includes attention to:
- keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators
- clear heading and page structure
- screen-reader-friendly navigation and controls
- color contrast and readable text
- browser zoom and responsive page reflow
- accessible forms, labels, instructions, and errors
- reduced-motion preferences
- meaningful image descriptions where appropriate
- accessible links, buttons, dialogs, and interactive controls
Using assistive technology
This website is intended to work with modern browsers and common assistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, operating-system magnification, and voice or switch-based navigation tools.
You may use your browser or device accessibility settings to enlarge text, zoom the page, increase contrast, or adjust motion preferences. GovOps is designed so that these settings can be used without requiring a separate accessibility mode.
Keyboard navigation
Residents should be able to navigate core website functions using a keyboard alone.
A Skip to main content link is available at the beginning of each page for keyboard and assistive-technology users.
Forms and online services
We aim to make online municipal forms and services accessible by providing clear labels, instructions, validation messages, and keyboard-accessible controls.
If you experience difficulty completing a form or using an online service, please contact the Borough so an alternative method of access can be provided.
Documents and PDFs
Some municipal records, meeting materials, ordinances, reports, permits, or other public documents may be provided as PDF files or other downloadable formats.
We are working to improve the accessibility of newly published documents and to provide assistance when older or third-party documents are not fully accessible.
If you cannot access a document, contact the Borough and identify the document or page you need. We will work to provide the information in an accessible format when possible.
Images, maps, and visual information
Meaningful images are provided with alternative text when appropriate. Decorative images may intentionally use empty alternative text so assistive technologies can ignore them.
Some maps, diagrams, or complex visual information may require an alternative description or other accommodation. Contact the Borough if you need assistance accessing information presented visually.
Third-party content
Some pages may link to documents, payment services, mapping tools, social media, or other third-party systems that are not directly controlled by Braddock Borough.
We encourage third-party providers to support accessible experiences, but their accessibility practices may differ from the GovOps website.
Report an accessibility barrier
If you encounter a page, document, form, feature, or service that is difficult to access, please let us know.
When reporting an issue, it is helpful to include:
- the page or service you were trying to use
- the accessibility barrier you encountered
- the device, browser, or assistive technology you were using, if known
- the information or service you need
- your preferred way to receive a response

Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing part of maintaining this municipal website. As GovOps features, documents, forms, and services evolve, accessibility will continue to be reviewed as part of the shared website foundation.
